Biographical Notes:
Spencer Tracy met and married Louise Treadwell in 1923.
In 1935 Tracy signed a new contract with MGM, where he would remain for
almost 20 years.
He became the first man to ever win back-to-back Oscars for "Captain
Courageous" (1937) and "Boys Town" (1938).
In 1942 Spencer Tracey made his first film with Katherine Hepburn,
"Woman of the Year".
He worked with
Katherine Hepburn in a total of nine films together over 29 years.
He had a life long
relationship with Katherine Hepburn. Although Tracy's Catholicism prevented him
from seeking divorce, he and Louise separated, and Tracy and Katharine Hepburn
would become partners off the screen as well as on.
The relationship with Hepburn lasted until Tracy's death.
