Film composer and songwriter whose hits included "Ain't She Sweet?" and the Happy Days theme. He began as a pianist for the silent movie theaters, went on to become a vaudevillian, and finally wound up writing hit songs for the Hollywood studios. He had many hit songs from 1918-38.
