Edith's career spanned about six decades. She
became a legend in her own right. She dressed some of the Biggest stars of the
time...Elizabeth Taylor, Jimmy Stewart, Marlene Dietrich, Robert Redford,
Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn...
She taught French and Art at the Hollywood
School Girls. She applied for a job as an assistant designer at Paramount
Studios on a dare from her students. She became the first designer ever to be
Chief Designer for a major film studio.
She was the most honored costume designer with 34 Oscar nominations and 8 Academy
awards.
